Components of an LNG Satellite Station
Discharge Stations: The LNG Satellite Plant receives its supply through cryogenic LNG containers. Transfer operations are managed by operators at two stations, utilizing cryogenic pumps and allowing for simultaneous operations. These discharge stations facilitate the transfer of LNG to storage reservoirs.
Storage: The station houses three horizontal cryogenic reservoirs, each with a maximum capacity of 200 m3. These reservoirs consist of inner (reservoir) and outer (containment) tanks, equipped with thermal insulation.
Supply: The LNG Satellite Plant delivers natural gas to the Vitória Thermoelectric Power Plant via a dedicated pipeline, maintaining suitable pressure and temperature levels. Prior to transfer, the stored LNG undergoes regasification (conversion from cryogenic liquid to gas with a temperature above 0°C) and processing. This process ensures the safe operation of the installed equipment and includes the following:
- Regasification and Heating Unit: Regasifies the LNG to enable conveyance at approximately 15°C within the pipeline.
- Adjustment and Measurement Unit: Maintains a constant gas pressure within defined limits in the pipeline.
Odorization Unit: Adds odorants to natural gas, enhancing its detectability and ensuring safe distribution and use.
Management and Control Unit: Enables autonomous operation of the LNG Satellite Plant and remote monitoring of key parameters such as pressure, stock levels, temperatures, gas detection, etc.
