Types of LNG Station
Conventional LNG Filling Station
This type of LNG filling station has its own LNG storage tank and its own LNG filling equipment. The advantage of this gas filling station is that it can realize large-scale LNG storage and supply, and can also meet the filling needs of various types of vehicles or ships. However, the construction cost of this kind of gas filling station is high, the construction period is long, and it occupies a large area.
Satellite LNG Filling Station
This type of LNG filling station does not have its own LNG storage tank. Instead, LNG is transported by tanker and then stored and refueled at the station. The advantages of this type of gas filling station are low investment, short construction period, small footprint, and simple operation. However, the disadvantage is that the tanker transportation distance is limited and LNG needs to be replenished frequently.
Mother Station + Sub-Station LNG Filling Station
This type of LNG filling station consists of a large LNG storage station (mother station) and several small LNG storage stations (substations). The mother station is responsible for storing large amounts of liquefied natural gas and supplying LNG to the sub-stations through pipelines or tankers. The substation is responsible for filling LNG into vehicles or ships. The advantage of this kind of gas filling station is that it can realize large-scale LNG storage and supply, but the disadvantages are high construction cost, long construction period and large area.
